Austin Brubaker To Host New Blue Dynasty Breakdown Show
Blue Dynasty is adding a new voice and a new show to its growing Dodgers coverage.
Biostatistician Austin Brubaker will host Blue Dynasty Breakdown With Austin Brubaker, a live program devoted to the analytical side of the Dodgers organization.
Austin announced the new show during his appearance on the latest episode of Blue Dynasty Unplugged.
The program is expected to stream live once or twice per week and will examine roster construction, organizational strategy, prospects, Minor League development and the numbers influencing decisions throughout the Dodgers’ system.
An official premiere date will be announced soon.
Austin Brings A Different Perspective To Blue Dynasty
Austin’s work with the Great Lakes Loons gives him firsthand familiarity with players moving through the Dodgers’ Minor League system.
That experience was evident throughout his latest appearance on Blue Dynasty Unplugged.
While discussing Josue De Paula, Austin was able to compare the rookie’s Major League performance with the player he watched at Great Lakes only one year ago. He examined the role De Paula could fill in October, the roster mechanisms Los Angeles would need to navigate and how the Dodgers might deploy him as a left-handed bat off the bench.
Austin also broke down the strategic value of alternating Ohtani and Betts in the leadoff spot, explaining how one lineup decision can affect relief matchups several innings later.
That combination of professional experience, statistical analysis and accessible baseball conversation will become the foundation of Blue Dynasty Breakdown.
A Show Built Around The Decisions Behind The Game
Blue Dynasty Breakdown will explore the parts of Dodgers baseball that cannot always be explained by a traditional box score.
Why was a player promoted or optioned?
How does a prospect’s underlying performance compare with his surface-level statistics?
Which relievers fit a particular postseason opponent?
How does moving one hitter affect the construction of the entire lineup?
What skills are the Dodgers attempting to develop before a prospect reaches Los Angeles?
Those are the types of questions Austin will examine.
The show will also provide more regular coverage of the Dodgers’ Minor League affiliates and the prospects progressing through each level of the organization.
The timing is especially appropriate following a season in which Dodgers players earned MVP honors in the California, Midwest and Texas leagues while the Oklahoma City Comets captured the Pacific Coast League championship.
Blue Dynasty Breakdown Will Complement Unplugged
The new show is an addition to Blue Dynasty’s coverage—not a replacement for Blue Dynasty Unplugged.
Unplugged will continue bringing together George Contoyannis, Priscilla Perez, Bobby Hainline, Sammy B and other Blue Dynasty contributors for news, reactions, predictions and the fan-driven conversations that have defined the show.
Blue Dynasty Breakdown will give Austin more time to concentrate on a specific topic, statistic, roster question or prospect development.
Other Blue Dynasty contributors will also have opportunities to join Austin and bring their perspectives to the conversation.
Together, the two programs will allow Blue Dynasty to cover the Dodgers from different angles while remaining part of the same community.
Helping Dodgers Fans Understand Why Decisions Are Made
Austin explained that his goal is to keep Dodgers fans as informed as possible.
That means offering more than a conclusion.
Rather than simply saying a lineup should be changed, Austin can examine how that change affects the hitters behind it. Instead of judging a reliever only by ERA, he can look at command, pitch quality, matchups and the underlying indicators that may predict future performance.
The same approach applies to prospects.
Austin’s connection to the Minor League system provides context about where players have been, how quickly they are progressing and what developmental work may still remain.
That perspective will become increasingly valuable as players such as De Paula, James Tibbs III, Mike Sirota, Jackson Ferris and others move closer to permanent roles in Los Angeles.
A New Addition To Blue Dynasty’s Dodgers Coverage
Blue Dynasty Breakdown represents the next step in the platform’s continued growth.
Dodgers fans will still receive the news, reactions and community discussion they expect from Blue Dynasty. Austin’s show will add another layer for viewers who want to understand the strategy and numbers behind those stories.
More information about the premiere episode and weekly schedule will be announced soon.
